If you’re trying to think of something to do on a Bank Holiday that isn’t too hectic but still feels like a proper day or evening out, Curzon Cinema is a really good option, especially if you go for the full food and film experience rather than just the film alone!

One of the things that makes Curzon different from a lot of cinemas is that it feels a bit more like a bar and restaurant that happens to show films. You can arrive early, have a drink, order some food and actually make an occasion of it rather than just turning up five minutes before the trailers.

The food is definitely a step up from standard cinema snacks. The pizzas are a big highlight, thin, crispy bases with really good toppings, and they’re perfect to share during a film. Alongside that, they usually have small plates and snacks like loaded fries, arancini, nachos, cheese boards and other nibbles that work well if you don’t want a full meal but still want something good to eat during the film.

They also do proper drinks, which makes a big difference. You can get a good glass of wine, cocktails, beers and soft drinks, and being able to take them into the screen with you makes the whole experience feel much more relaxed and a bit more like a treat.

It’s actually a really nice Bank Holiday activity because it works whatever the weather is doing. If it’s raining, it’s the perfect cosy plan. If the weather’s nice, you can spend the day doing something else and then head to Curzon in the evening for food and a film, and it feels like you’ve made the most of the long weekend.

The seats are comfortable, the screens feel more intimate than the big chain cinemas, and the whole experience just feels a bit more special. It’s ideal for a date night, a catch-up with friends, or even just going on your own and treating yourself to a film, pizza and a glass of wine.

Overall, if you’re stuck for Bank Holiday plans, Curzon is a great shout. It turns a simple trip to the cinema into something that feels more like a proper outing. Good food, good drinks and a great film all in one place.
