If you’re looking for a relaxed spot for breakfast or coffee in Middlewich, Little Lock Cafe is a lovely little find. Sitting right beside the canal, it’s the kind of place that feels instantly calming, with narrowboats passing by and walkers stopping off along the towpath.

The canalside location is definitely part of the charm. On a sunny morning it’s a great place to sit outside with a coffee and just watch the world go by. Even when it’s busier, the atmosphere still feels easygoing and welcoming, which makes it a great stop whether you’re out for a walk or just popping in for breakfast.

Speaking of coffee, it’s really good here. If you’re someone who takes their coffee seriously, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great little spot to grab a proper cup and take a moment to slow down.

The breakfast menu is simple but done well, with all the comforting classics you’d hope for. Think good, hearty plates that are satisfying without being over the top. It’s the kind of breakfast that feels homemade and hits the spot.

Another big plus is that it’s dog friendly, which makes it really popular with people walking along the canal. You’ll often see dogs happily settling down while their owners enjoy a coffee or a bite to eat, which always adds to the friendly, community feel of the place.

What’s also refreshing is the pricing. In a time when a lot of cafés feel quite expensive, Little Lock Cafe keeps things really reasonable while still delivering good food and great coffee.

All in all, it’s just a lovely local café! Relaxed, welcoming and perfectly placed by the water. If you’re in Middlewich and fancy a good breakfast or a coffee stop during a canal walk, it’s definitely worth a visit.
